Laura was my middle school volleyball coach – her daughters in school around the same time as me. I learned so much from her about volleyball, working hard, and life in general. She was always there and supportive. What a treasure it was to meet her grandkids and photograph them. How gorgeous is this backdrop? Bear Lake in the Seward Alaska area is incredible! When I pictured photographing families in Seward this is exactly the background I was hoping for. Wow! I think I should do travel sessions in Alaska more often! Enjoy this sneak peak guys!
Oh my goodness! I had so much fun photographing families in Seward, Alaska while we were there this summer! It was a dream to go to my hometown and photograph some of the kids of some of my favorite people! I graduated with several of the Mom’s and Dad’s of these gorgeous kids. We had so much fun! This grandchildren session couldn’t have been more perfect! You never know what weather you are going to get in Seward and boy did we luck out. Seward is gorgeous even on a rainy day but on a sunny day it is literatly the most beautiful place on earth! Conants, what a joy it was to come to Alaska and photograph your family. That view is unbelievable and your children are amazing.
I’ll try not to get too personal here…
My big brother. Life has taken us to the far sides of the country. We try to keep in touch and thank goodness for social media! Life is busy. Life is crazy. Oh how I wish life got me to Oregon more often! When I found out that my brother was dating this amazing woman all I wanted to know was how can I meet her and what can I do to help?! They eloped to Hawaii and had the most gorgeous, personal wedding! I am so thrilled for them but as a traveling wedding and family photographer I ached to photograph this incredible event in their lives! Can you blame me?!
While we were all in Alaska together I was able to meet his gorgeous bride and see my nieces and nephews. We took some time away from all the wonderful chaos of a family reunion/Alaska vacation and headed to Kincaid Park for some family photo time. The light couldn’t have been more amazing! I love photographing families. I love the time it gives me to see family dynamics. I love to study people’s personality and what makes them, well…them. This was a chance to see how much Bria loves her accessories. This was a chance to experience the incredible sense of humor that Beth has. This was a chance to see Brock and Kelsie lovingly harass each other and to remember that they got it from their father ;). This was a chance to learn that for his senior pictures Brock wants something completely un-ordinary. This was a chance for me to capture this family in a beautiful setting at a time in their lives that they always want to remember and look back on.
Enjoy this sneak peak for now! More to come!
Not trash the dress is the traditional sense of the word but a more modern sense.
The wedding day is an amazing celebration of the joining of two lives and families. I adore what it is and what it does. When I look back, however, I only have one wish. I wish that I had worn my dress just ONE more time! We’re calling this a “Wear the Dress one more time” session!
Crystal has become so near and dear to my heart. I have known her and watched her as she’s overcome difficulties and trials and have watched her succeed with sparkle and glamour! She found this amazing boy who makes her laugh, balances her, and supports her. Their engagement session was FREEZING. Their wedding was unbelievably beautiful and also…FREEZING! I knew we had to shoot her in this dress one more time.
This day couldn’t have been more perfect. Jon and Crystal came and my heart swelled as I saw her relax into him, smile, laugh and just be HER. We found some pink trees at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs to match Crystal’s pink dress and just spent some time walking around campus in the sun. This is a brief sneak peak into the gorgeous images we created in this modern “Trash the dress” session.
If you missed the post from their New Year’s Eve wedding you can find it here!
We did a mini Mommy and Me session with our favorite accessories. We spent a rainy day in Saratoga Springs, NY just playing, taking “pictures” with our binoculars, and wearing all the necessary adornments! There might have been a few burps and toots and hilarious laughter then ensued as well. But only maybe. I was put to the test juggling, camera, lighting, and a little blue bouncy ball with rough edges flying at me! (only the ball was flying at me, not the camera or lighting). My smile hurt when we were done!
I met Virginia scrolling through Instagram. I was immediately drawn to her feed…clean and beautiful! I had to look at her website. The same. I wandered to her blog, Razimus Jewelry. (We’ll call it my small adventure for the day). It was of course also gorgeous and with incredible content. I loved it! When I got the idea for this Mother’s Day Giveaway I knew immediately that I wanted her to be a part of it. Not only was she amazing to work with, she’s beautiful and then there’s her daughter!
Thank you so much little one for reminding me what it means to be a little princess! And thank you Virginia for being an amazing woman, mom, and business owner!

This is the first big play and first musical we have been a part of as a family. How lucky we were to work with such amazing people! It has been incredible to watch them work and grow and build this show in a relatively short period of time. The amount of work put into it and into the children is incredible and inspiring!
We were honored to help the kids and a few of the adults with some new headshots. Check out Broadway Upstate’s website here.
I can’t wait to see this cast in action at the Wood Theater here in Glens Falls, NY. You can check out show times and purchase tickets at the Wood’s website.
First off the star of the show! Okay, maybe not but he sure is cute and awesome!
This doesn’t even begin to showcase the amazing people that have worked to make this show happen but a huge shoutout and thank you to all that have worked so hard!
I had the privilege of accompanying these guys on a shoot just for 1 t-shirt. Why would we do an entire photo shoot just for one T? Well partly because it’s an incredible design but mostly because it’s an incredible cause. Rick and Lois at One on 1 Design have outdone themselves again. (If you haven’t seen their other charitable designs make sure and check them out here)!
“I designed ‘SUPPORT’ to help our brave and dedicated American soldiers in some way, but ‘how’ was my questions. What organization do I donate to? How can I help? Will it really make a difference? Then the answer: my veteran friend Carl introduced me to the ‘SFC Coon’s Christmas Eve Road March‘ in Glens Falls, NY. The community’s ‘support’ helps provide care packages to our soldiers deployed all over the world. The event has increased yearly since it’s start from 12 participants in 2003, to now over 1,500 friends and family marching, walking…supporting. I found an organization. I found out we can help. WE will really make a difference. Thank you for your SUPPORT!”
“I constantly go between wanting you to stay my little baby forever, and being excited about all of the amazing things you’ll do in this life.”
