This is one of those sessions where I just don’t know where to start. I traveled to Alaska for many different reasons. One of these was to photograph a few families. This was the third time that I photographed this family and the first time that Dan was able to come with me. He had seen past session photos. He had heard me tell stories. This time he got to meet them! When the little boy cries because you are leaving (well because Dan was leaving) and when you are editing the images you laugh and awww your whole way through, that’s when you remember…really remember why you do what you do. This family has brought me so much joy and in return I have been able to give them the precious gift of memories that will never disappear or even fade. It was an absolute joy to introduce them to Dan and to see their new home and meet all their furry friends! I didn’t want to leave and I can’t thank them enough for welcoming us!

Seward, Alaska
Laura was my middle school volleyball coach – her daughters in school around the same time as me. I learned so much from her about volleyball, working hard, and life in general. She was always there and supportive. What a treasure it was to meet her grandkids and photograph them. How gorgeous is this backdrop? Bear Lake in the Seward Alaska area is incredible! When I pictured photographing families in Seward this is exactly the background I was hoping for. Wow! I think I should do travel sessions in Alaska more often! Enjoy this sneak peak guys!
Alaska family photographer session
Oh my goodness! I had so much fun photographing families in Seward, Alaska while we were there this summer! It was a dream to go to my hometown and photograph some of the kids of some of my favorite people! I graduated with several of the Mom’s and Dad’s of these gorgeous kids. We had so much fun! This grandchildren session couldn’t have been more perfect! You never know what weather you are going to get in Seward and boy did we luck out. Seward is gorgeous even on a rainy day but on a sunny day it is literatly the most beautiful place on earth! Conants, what a joy it was to come to Alaska and photograph your family. That view is unbelievable and your children are amazing.
Traveling wedding and family photographer
I’ll try not to get too personal here…
My big brother. Life has taken us to the far sides of the country. We try to keep in touch and thank goodness for social media! Life is busy. Life is crazy. Oh how I wish life got me to Oregon more often! When I found out that my brother was dating this amazing woman all I wanted to know was how can I meet her and what can I do to help?! They eloped to Hawaii and had the most gorgeous, personal wedding! I am so thrilled for them but as a traveling wedding and family photographer I ached to photograph this incredible event in their lives! Can you blame me?!
While we were all in Alaska together I was able to meet his gorgeous bride and see my nieces and nephews. We took some time away from all the wonderful chaos of a family reunion/Alaska vacation and headed to Kincaid Park for some family photo time. The light couldn’t have been more amazing! I love photographing families. I love the time it gives me to see family dynamics. I love to study people’s personality and what makes them, well…them. This was a chance to see how much Bria loves her accessories. This was a chance to experience the incredible sense of humor that Beth has. This was a chance to see Brock and Kelsie lovingly harass each other and to remember that they got it from their father ;). This was a chance to learn that for his senior pictures Brock wants something completely un-ordinary. This was a chance for me to capture this family in a beautiful setting at a time in their lives that they always want to remember and look back on.
Enjoy this sneak peak for now! More to come!
