This fall family session in Saratoga Springs was cold but gorgeous! It might have taken until the adults were freezing for the kids to warm up to the camera but it was oh so worth it for these smiles! We played at their house in their incredible back yard, roasted marshmallows and then headed over to Spa State Park. We hung upside down, jumped off walkways and ran, and ran, and ran! I loved watching this family and seeing the love they have for each other. These two little ones are so lucky to have a big brother that treats them so well and an amazing mom! Not only is… Keep Reading
Sera – Mepkin Abbey High School Senior Shoot
I was able to travel to South Carolina for some southern fall photo shoots. I always love to meet the people that I photograph before the day of their session but that wasn’t possible in this case. I spoke with Sera’s mom and we talked back and forth. Then Sera sent me a Pinterest Board and we coordinated outfit ideas. I had so much fun getting to know her and her style! Sera’s look was very comfy, down to earth, and super cute! I got so excited to meet Sera and the session we had together at the Mepkin Abbey monastery was incredible! We had gorgeous weather that equated to beautiful light!… Keep Reading
Yaddo Gardens Family Session
Saratoga Springs is so gorgeous this time and year and Yaddo gardens if one of our favorite spots! The kids got together and surprised Grandma for Christmas with a custom family portrait session. What a great Christmas present! Debbie does not seem old enough to be a Grandma but what an amazing one she is! The kids love her and John and we had so much fun playing together at Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga Springs, NY. We had to stop the party several times to feed, burp, and put the baby to sleep. Everyone was so relaxed and patient. The non-baby grandkids were such troopers! Dan played “photography equipment reflector… Keep Reading
Glens Fall Sunrise Engagement Session
The weather this spring has made scheduling sessions difficult. We were however blessed with a gorgeous morning to walk around Crandall park and photograph these two and a few with their fur baby. I first photographed Jon & Alicia almost 1 and a half years ago while I was doing some photo sessions at the gym. Alicia always has a smile (a gorgeous smile might I add) and you can feel the kind spirit in her. She has a calmness in her very nature. Jon is quiet at first. He doesn’t like to hold still. He is an athlete, a gym owner, a teacher, and a trainer. All that adds… Keep Reading
High School Senior Photo Session – Charleston, SC
There’s a lot more black and white in this High School Senior Photo Session then you usually see. There’s plenty of color too I promise! This sneak peek I just couldn’t resist these black and whites because B&W and freckles make me swoon. We combined this Berkeley High School Senior’s love of the beach and pretty dresses with her love for soccer. She is a fierce soccer player with a heart of gold. Even when I heard her telling stories of something that had gone wrong or something bad that had happened she always told it with a kind, positive perspective. This incredible woman is going to change the world… Keep Reading
Sister Photography Session – Charleston, SC
This Sister Photography Session over spring break was so much fun! Not only did we get to go to the beach at sunset but we also got to walk around and shoot in downtown Charleston, SC at night. Claire and her sister are best friends. I was around them a lot during spring break. I had to ask their mom if they ever fought. The response was, “occasionally over clothes but not really.” Wow! They are so lucky to have each other! It was such a pleasure to capture this moment in their lives. Before long they will both be off at college and things will change. They will always… Keep Reading
Sunset Beach Prom – Charleston, SC
Can I just say how amazing it was to be near the beach and to get to photograph this incredible prom couple during sunset on James Island in South Carolina? It was incredible! This sunset beach prom photo session was a little more rushed then we usually like but hey, sometimes you just have to roll with it. When the couple are both advanced student athletes with packed schedules you just make things work. I had to bust out my make-up skills (which are thanks to Crystal Gardner) in the car on the way to the beach. I think I did pretty good! Granted I had an incredible canvas to paint!!… Keep Reading
Anniversary Photo Session – Saratoga Springs, NY
Today these two celebrate their anniversary. I know I’ve mentioned it before but Anniversary Photo Sessions are fast becoming my absolute favorite type of session to photograph. As we go through life it changes us. Life is hard. But life is also good and joyful. In order to get through we need people that we can laugh with, grow with, cry with, and possible even yell with. When I photograph couples that have been married for several years or dozens I can see them seeing each other in such a different way. They see the years of ache, the years of laughter. They see the bad and the good, the… Keep Reading

5 questions for your Wedding Photographer
Last time we talked about the 3 essential questions every couple should ask their wedding photographer. You can check out that article here. If you don’t ask anything else you’re probably still doing pretty good. But there are still other important questions. Hopefully your photographer will tell you how it works (they are the expert) but there are a few things you should make sure that they cover. While brainstorming for this article I came across a post titled “38 things to ask your photographer”! Wow! 38!? If you have to ask your photographer 38 specific questions then please run and hide..that photographer is not doing their job! I’m going… Keep Reading
